Hey there! Thanks for checking out this template. I put this Notion setup together while juggling college life and building my first eCommerce side hustle, aiming for that dream: a million-dollar business! As a Notionist myself with schoolwork and second brain and all, I figured I could just set another notion page to help me with that side hustle dream.

Inspired by 12 Months to $1 Million book authored by Ryan Daniel Moran, I created this from scratch to help with all the essential but lowkey tedious stuff, like tracking sales orders, keeping tabs on inventory, and staying ahead with low-stock alerts. You’ll notice this setup has a Kanban-style flow (shoutout to Toyota for making visual task management a thing!). It’s designed to keep everything organized, so you can focus on the fun stuff—because, let’s be real, we already have enough on our plates as students (and textbooks and relationship and, well, life in general). Let’s dive in! I’ll walk you through each section (in blue italic), breaking down how it works and how to make the most of it.

If you’re not sure on what to sell but you want to start something— and the thought of being a corporate drone in future isn’t what you can stomach— check this out for some guiding light:

Add all your to-dos here—you can even mix in some personal tasks as a reminder that, hey, chasing your dreams is great, but don’t forget those personal commitments too!

To-Do List

Clock and a countdown timer as reminder. You can create your own widget from widgetbox (like below) or indify.

https://widgetbox.app/embed/clock/digital/a3f192ad-766d-4ca9-9165-7b9850d52641

https://widgetbox.app/embed/time/until/0dda5b29-cedb-47b8-863a-8c7c1cbfe443

For countdown widget, I set Jan 1, 2026 as the target date but I recommend you create your own free widget with your own target date. Or remove them entirely to free up speed hog.

My Key Performance Metrics at-a-glance

The table below shows how close we’re getting to that $1 million goal. Every time we open Notion, we can see our progress and stay focused on hitting that big milestone 💰💰💰. Once we reach a million dollar in annual revenue, we’ll set new goals and keep leveling up our business game. Just like in Kanban, we’re all about that continuous improvement (Kaizen) mindset!

In order to track the yearly revenue figures, attach in the corresponding ledger year in 📂Revenue 📂 column and set the yearly target in 🎯Goal Revenue🎯 column.

Goal Progress

Here’s where we track our financial health. I like using a weekly view to get a better handle on my eCommerce performance, especially with limited cash flow—helps keep things tight. But you can totally go with a monthly view if that works better for you. I made these charts with the Notion Plus trial version, which lets you have more than one chart. In the free version, you’re limited with just one chart, so in this case I keep it simple and use only the Weekly P&L chart to watch my profit and loss. For this template, I included the charts as a showcasing of what could be achieved if you decided the extra monthly cost for Notion Plus version is worth it for you.
